A Winter's Dream

On the border of Catalunya and Aragon lies the small village of La Clua. It has 5 residents. On a cold and grey winter day in Barcelona, I dream of looking out over this field as the daylight wanes.

Ericeira, Portugal

This winter, we had the opportunity to visit Ericeira, Portugal.  We stayed in the beautiful Vila Gale hotel right on the water.  The sea was beautiful and the waves crashing against the rocks were incredible.  Here are a few pictures.  This is definitely worth a visit.

Ronda - Puente Nuevo

We ended up in Ronda near sunset to look out from the Puente Nuevo (new bridge), which was completed in 1793.  Being afraid of heights, it was a little bit unnerving to stand on the edge and take pictures, but the bridge held up and we're ok.  The view was stunning.

Ronda also boasts the oldest bullring in Spain and hosted Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles during summers.
The Bridge

A view down the ravine from the bridge.

From the bridge, houses built up to the edge of the ravine.

The Evening Sky

When we arrived in Asín de Broto, it was after a rain storm.  The evening sky was inspirational.

Rooftop Sunset

We were finishing up our blackened salmon when Tracy looked out the window and saw the purple light reflecting off the building across the way.  We grabbed the camera and the dog and ran up to the roof of the building to grab whatever bits of the sunset we could.  It was an amazing sunset, which we shared with a few French tourist spending their last night in Barcelona.

A view of the antennas mounted to every building with Tibidabo in the very background.

A typical rooftop.
